When I was in high school we had the same homeroom teacher for our entire four years. By the time my sophomore year rolled around, my homeroom teacher realized I needed my own designated space.
So she sat a stool in the middle of her carpeted area where she kept her bookshelves (she was an English teacher) and for those 18 minutes, I had my designated “Judy Space”. There I could tell the rest of my homeroom class about my day, something I read, something I saw on TV, and just talk about anything in general.
Of course, I didn’t utilize my space everyday, but I like to think of it as my first introduction to a blog. It would be 15 years before I registered a domain and began penning my thoughts in my own designated “Judy Space” online. And here I am, launching my newest adventure, The Good Life Moms.
A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to write for a mom blog site in Omaha. It was my first real introduction to writing and I enjoyed every minute of it.
(Well, mostly every minute. To my dismay, people can be really rude online sometimes. I’m sure that won’t happen here. )
I met some incredible women during that time and have enjoyed some deep friendships that I would not have had otherwise.
But I stopped writing for them over two years ago. I kept in touch with my blogging friends. I tried to keep up on my personal blog, but I have since embarked on two new careers and have dedicated my time and talents to my job and to my family.
And I missed writing. Really, really missed it.
So, earlier this spring, I had the idea of starting my own community blog. A place where women could connect and share ideas, stories, and life.
I told my friends about my idea. They cheered me on.
I hired a graphic designer. I met with an uber-smart computer techy guy.
I got busy on my dream.
I reached out to some great writers I know and asked if they’d be interested in being a part of this community. They agreed.
After over six months of planning and processing, we are ready to bring you The Good Life Moms.
You can look for new posts every weekday afternoon from our team of writers. You can expect some upcoming events to help you get connected in real life to some of the people on this site.
Thank you so much for your excitement and we look forward to sharing the good life with you!
