One of my favorite places to shop is Target. Not only have I been going there since I was five years old, I also find really great deals there.
When I find a store that takes so many steps to help their customers save money, I am happy to shop there and take advantage of their offers!
After years of trial and error and recent changes, here are some of the best ways I have found to save money when shopping at Target!
Price matching is a great way to save big at Target! This is simple. It can also save you time and money the next time you are shopping by not forcing you to visit various stores just to get a sale price.
When shopping in store and price matching, you must bring the item to the service desk along with the sale ad of another store, within a 45 minute radius that is in the same “market” of you store. The ad must be current and must show the exact item and include an exact sale price.
You can price match at Target.com when you are shopping online. Purchases made on Target.com are excluded from the store’s price-matching policy. Target.com will price match if you see a lower price listed on Target.com or in the Target Weekly Ad the same week or the week following your online order date.
Target Red Card
The Target Red Card is another great way to save money at Target! You will save 5% off your entire purchase every time you use your Target Red Card, and you will also get Free Shipping when you shop at Target.com and get the 5% off your total!
Target Cartwheel is another great way to save money at Target! There are many items available for a variety of categories. With hundreds of offers available, you pick the savings you want and customize your own deals. These offers can also be combined on sale items, Target Coupons, Target Mobile Coupons or manufacturer coupons.
Target is great about putting things on clearance, but do you know how to read the Target Clearance stickers. This will help you know when you are getting a good deal. Knowing the Target clearance schedule is helpful when it comes to saving big.
Clearance items at Target normally through a markdown phase that is in set increments: 15%, 30%, 50%, 70% up to 90%. Some stores will use 75%, instead of 70%, depending on the region. Approximately every two weeks the unsold items will be reduced further in price.
Here is the store department clearance schedule:
Monday: Baby/Toddler, kids clothes, electronics, and office supplies/gift wrap/stationery
Tuesday: Home décor, women’s clothing
Wednesday: Food, health and beauty, men’s clothing, toys
Thursday: Housewares, sporting goods, shoes
Friday: Cosmetics, jewelry, automotive, and home improvement
If the price of the item on clearance ends in $0.06 or $0.08, the item will be marked down again during the next markdown. If the last number in the price of the item ends in $0.04, the item has been marked for the last time, and this is the lowest price that Target will sell it.
Periodically, some Target Cartwheel Offers will include clearance items, adding to the savings!
Target Mobile Coupons
This is another great way to save money when shopping at Target. These can be combined with manufacturer coupons and Target Cartwheel offers. Tripling up on the savings can lead to some great deals!

Target also offers new mobile coupons that are featured in the weekly ad. These are offers that can also be printed on their website, but you can save the ink and text it to your smartphone!
There are also periodically special mobile offers that become available. They are usually valid for about a month.
Target Store Coupons
Target features lots of coupons that are available only on their website that can be printed and redeemed in store. These can be combined with manufacturer coupons. Target has recently changed policies to state that only one specific Target Store Coupon may be redeemed in a transaction.
